Receptions are the largest and grandest form of refreshments for large social events, celebrations of important company jubilees or VIP visits, opening ceremonies for new buildings, businesses, or branches. Meals are served in a feast-style arrangement. The staff also mingle with the guests and offer appetisers and drinks from trays. Receptions can be held in the morning, at midday, in the afternoon, in the evening, or at night, and generally last from one and a half to two hours.
